I don't think I need anyone at all
And as friends fall
Don't think I need anyone at all
Now soldiers fall
Don't think I need anyone at all
And now leaders fall
Don't think I need anyone at all
And as nations fall
Don't think I need anyone at all
And now, I fall
I think I needed someone after all.....

I wanted it to be.
Hoping we could be more than friends
Your hair, wheat field gold
Your eyes, I don't remember their color-
I never was an eye man.
You always were smarter than me.
You probably knew what I was feeling,
that it was different than friendship.
Then I screwed it up.
Or was it the Idea of being in love?
Teenage hearts, tricks they will play.
I wanted us to be together.
But now,
As I write this poem,
as I all to seldom do,
I know it wasn't love.
Just a meaningless crush.
All it did in the end was cause me pain.
Maybe that's why they call it a crush.
